Wet Scrubbers
Wet Scrubbers can be designed to collect particulate matter and/or gaseous pollutants. Dust and other particles are removed by capturing them in liquid droplets, whereas pollutant gasses are removed by dissolving or absorbing them into the liquid. The scrubbing liquid is selected so as to oxidise the targeted pollutants in the gas stream and convert them to harmless by products.
BBR Enviro Systems have developed specialized scrubbing techniques for removal of particles and highly soluble gasses such as hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and ammonia (NH3) from an air stream.

Our ozone scrubbers for removing hydrogen sulphide, have a very low chemical consumption; the waste products are harmless and they can be discharged into a normal waste water system.
The advantages of scrubbers over biofiltration are as follows:
The advantages of scrubbers over biofiltration are as follows:
- A higher treatment capacity per unit volume.
- Reduced start up time and downtime as there is no bacteria to establish.
- Handles peak loads and concentration variations more effectively.
