The Volatile Organic Vapour Condenser (VOVC) was developed for removing condensable organic compounds from factory emissions. The solid precipitates or condensates of these compounds resemble fluids like oil and grease and often appear as a plume above the exhaust stack.
Water vapour, which serves as a carrier for organic vapours and particles, is also effectively removed by the filter. The unit also serves as a very efficient fire trap and will prevent a fire from spreading beyond the unit.
Each system is custom designed for the particular operational parameters and the pollutants to be removed. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Applications where the filter has proved successful include:
SS Nylon Spinners for removal of lubricating oils
Fried food processing such as I&J, Simba
Plastic processing
The VOVC uses a three phase approach for the removal of pollutants:
A water cooled heat exchanger is designed to ensure condensation of all targeted condensable VOC’s
The condensed VOC’s are removed by two separate banks of Veritech Spiral Curl filters, one each side of the cooling chamber, and are then drained from the bottom of the unit
The VOVC is the smallest and most cost effective unit available for its application. This is mainly due to two factors:
The patented Veritech filter is proven to be the most efficient static particulate and fat filter available. Combined with the right degree of cooling, this ensures that virtually all condensable VOC’s are removed from the air stream
The entire unit is fabricated from grade 316 stainless steel. It is very durable and easily cleaned as part of a routine maintenance schedule
