The City of Cape Town advertised a tender for odor control at the newest of the cities wastewater treatment plants at Fisantekraal.

The tender specification called for two separate plants:

• A 4000m³/hr biotrickling filter to treat the air with higher hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) concentrations from the inlet works.
• A 750m³/hr biological filter to treat the odours (mainly VOC and TRS) from the dewatering facility.

BBR Enviro Systems were able to offer a single W-Series plant to achieve the tender specification in a single unit. We also offered a higher extraction rate than specified (6,000 m³/hr) to ensure that all areas were properly ventilated and that no odours would escape from the source.
